keep your friends close but your enemies closer

With the Trump inauguration coming up, I was reflecting on the whole thing. From his unlikely nomination in the primaries, to his stunning defeat of the allegedly unbeatable democratic heavyweight, Hillary Clinton, and finally, to all the sullen, crying faces of the liberals, this has been amazing fun. I've never seen anyone campaign harder, or longer than Trump, while Clinton did nothing but demean him and anyone who considered voting for him as "deplorable".

Team Clinton didn't even mount a credible campaign even though they had 1.2 billion dollars to spend. With 1.2 billion dollars, you should be able to elect Mr. Ed. No message worthy of a presidential candidate was ever presented to the public by Clinton, and no agenda was ever outlined. The sole message was to present Donald Trump as a fool and a dangerous madman who could never be trusted with nuclear codes. The Clinton team was too busy measuring the drapes in the White House to notice all the working class people of the country in full scale revolt. It was the same hubris and arrogance the team would have brought into the executive office and we are all better off that that will never happen. Team Clinton were very much like the Germans of WWI marching out of Brandenburg Gate shouting that they would be home soon, but the enemy they faced was a lot more formidable and serious than they gave them credit for.

As an American I am thrilled about the inauguration and glad Trump won, I also think the public tantrums of the extreme Obama left, and their bullying is something that everyone is watching and learning from. Obama even attacked the Cuban people by ending the policy that lets them stay in the US, but I guess thats not racist. Chelsea Manning has also been let off the hook by the same Obama who was so outraged by the leaks of Clinton's emails. Most of us paying attention to him are torn between laughter and tears.

Gestapo, my ass.  What utter horseshit.  I'm starting to think Godwin has God in his name for a reason.

Whatever you want to call it...however ineffective, it was an attempt to hide the truth.

Quoting Borg999,

Why do we keep on believing politicians just because they are new or different?...

Whether they are a lawyer or a businessman, they are cut from the same cloth.

You seem to be somewhat alone in this belief. On both sides, everyone seems to agree that Trump is very, very different. Just to gauge how far out you are, I need to know if you believe that Trump was urinated on by Russian prostitutes. Anyone who believes that and other such absurd claims is totally unreachable.  I do know that Democrats have the most to lose in the next election and if they keep carrying on and throwing emotional tantrums they will get voted out again and will be on a glide path to Whigdom.

No, I don't believe unsubstantiated stories.

He's looking out for himself, and he doesn't believe the things he says. He's no different.

The Democrat's mistake was to engage in identity politics and ignore demographics who they believed were "in the bag". It was their arrogance and Clinton's smug assurance that she was the next in line that cost her the election.

There were two kinds of Clinton voters. Those she pandered to and worshiped the ground she walked on, and those who viewed her as the lesser of two bad choices. The majority fell within the latter group. There was a huge enthusiasm gap in the ranks that she completely ignored.

I get the impression you only interact with those on the extreme left. It is a mistake to assume that everyone with a certain label is a homogeneous group with no variance of opinion.

OK, was just feeling out where you were at. Some people I know are subject to knee jerk affirmations of anything they read that portrays Trump in a bad light, no matter how sensationally fabricated or untrue.

If your going to invoke Godwins law in response to my statement, you also need to do it for Trump...

Did you conveniently forget about that? Or perhaps when Trump says it, Godwin's law doesn't apply somehow?...

Trump Sold America a Miracle Cure

But when miracle cures fail, the patients don't blame the salesman.

Not sure what your problem with Trump is Borg, but for me its like floating on a cloud into nirvana to see all the actions he is taking to turn the country around into a much better direction.
