keep your friends close but your enemies closer

Everything has changed. The internet has changed. Instead of information on the rise, we have a brand of censorship and authoritarianism that is far removed from filtering just mere obscenity. In the name of combating our own alleged racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, and any other perceived 'isms' or psychological disorders that offend the sensibilities of so-called progressives, we now have an Orwellian situation where you had better watch not only what you say, but what you think. If we are not able to live in their pristine echo chamber of safe concepts and design we had better shut up, and if we don't shut up, we will trigger them into an epileptic tantrum of violence.

Those with control over media aren't nearly as bad as the useful idiots who instantly believe everything they read and recite from a pedestal of self created superiority. People who act like they have tons of expertise in matters such as national security and monetary policy who actually have about as much as the man who picks up our garbage. And it's not that I look down on the garbageman, its just that he would probably know as much, or maybe more than the moron spouting like an expert on the internet. The biggest difference is that he might not be so cocksure that he has all the answers on the subject after reading an article which is written by some Harvard educated liberal intellectual with no real experiences in the real world.

I don't see 'modern censorship' as even an issue to be worth the breath.

Any man and his dog can flame the world via the Internet  and social media to their heart's content.

Back in the 'bad old days' the 'public media' was in the hands of the few....who could and were controlled by vested interests...

These days the biggest problem is that groovy, trendy term 'Fake News' .... bullshit posted by little people to upset bigger people...

Just a semi rant I concocted. It seems like sites that control news will censor virtually anything these days. On Yahoo if you type the word "Nazi" or "KKK" it will delete the entire comment. Are those words really that offensive? It just seems like the policing of content has reached a level of militancy that has greatly hindered the exchange of ideas. Add in a portion of our society who want to criminalize what most people consider to be mainstream thought and you have a clash arriving somewhere in the near future.

The problem there is you're on Yahoo.  No self-respecting entity would be anyway.

I'm sure there are White Supremacist sites around that counter what Yahoo might be doing....

Either way....mental 'children' will hang out where they hear what they want to hear....and to hell with an oppositionist viewpoint.

Safe and cosy in the 'we are right and everyone else is wrong world'.

Issue is it's spread well now into US Politics....the "Clinton-is-a-C**t-brigade-therefore-Trump-is-the-second-coming-of-the-Lord" are just plain sad.

The left are just as bad as you believe the right to be, Jafo.  You do tend to generalize.
