keep your friends close but your enemies closer

I have to admit I've been a bit baffled by liberals these days. On the one hand, they claimed to be horrified by Adolf Hitler's (Bush's) creation of a prison facility in Cuba called Gitmo, and for the "torture" of Khalid Sheik Muhammad, the mastermind of 911. They called Bush "the worlds greatest terrorist" for wars against Saddam Hussein and The Taliban. Now, they are suddenly filled with glee over the savage torture and execution of the Qaddafi's. They will say that it wasn't US troops doing the killing, but a boisterous Hillary Clinton appeared elated while taking ownership of the savagery claiming, "we came, we saw, an he died". She was elated. As far as I'm concerned, Clinton had taken complete responsibility for the actions on the ground which are illegal and considered war crimes by all industrialized nations and western powers. So basically its just more liberal hypocrisy. It seems barbaric violence is perfectly acceptable to them when it suits there needs. I don't care that Qaddafi is dead, but if George W Bush would have been President right now and if Condi Rice gave a statement like Clinton it would have been an endless drum beat of war criminal from the left. After watching the videos of the executions and learning what kind of Islamists are taking over, I'm not even sure we weren't better off with Qaddafi anyway. Really crazy times we are living in.

It  is not really crazy. Liberals do regime change as well, they just screw it up.  Their "victories"?  Iran, Egypt, Libya - all are or appear headed to theocratic sharia law governments.  The people were snookered by democrats, and while the democrats crow (see hillary), the people suffer.

Yeah, but it's not the utter failure of the policy which is simply creating hostile Islamic theocracies in the model of Iran that gets to me as much as the joy liberals seem to be expressing with the violence on the ground. I thought this kind of thing allegedly turned them off. Try to imagine Bush engineering the same kind of outcome in Libya, and in the aftermath Condi Rice said something like "we came, we saw, he died". Liberals on MSNBC would certainly say it was a violation of all know international laws and conventions of war... wouldn't they?

It only turns them off when they cannot claim credit.  They are a very viscous and violent bunch.
