keep your friends close but your enemies closer

Was just watching all of Obama's propaganda on his Youtube channel and I must say it's very good. It's actually top notch. Obama is one of the worst Presidents of my lifetime, but he manages to milk the most out of his few successes while amplifying his personal likability and family with amazing efficiency.

So it won't be easy to beat him. Obama has done more campaigning and lavish vacationing then governing, but it really doesn't matter when you have a propaganda machine like his. Obama can get away with hobnobbing with Jeffery Immelt who paid $0 on 14B in profit and Warren Buffett while holding endless 35,000 a plate fundraisers where he and his followers bemoan the 1% of Americans who aren't paying their "fair share" without worrying about a wider exposure of such hypocrisy to the public. Orwell once wrote, "in times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act," and so it is today. It will be hard for the public to get the truth when the message is controlled by Obama and his media accomplices. Most people will get the rosy visions we see on Youtube, and it will leave most Americans with the impression that Republicans and the rich have made life miserable for them. Its really quite amazing.

Sadly, I think it will work. I also think he will probably win reelection not only because of his propaganda efficiency, but because of Republican division and inefficiency. Rick Santorum doesn't have the chops or gravitas for a Presidential run, radical teapartiers might think he does, but they are wrong. They are the same people who brought us fatally flawed candidates like Sharron Angle, who couldn't even defeat a highly unpopular Harry Reid in Nevada, or everyone's favorite sorceress, Christine "I'm not a witch" O'Donnell.

Newt does have the gravitas and clout for the run, but he is carrying tons of dirty laundry and unsavory personal behavior. Character still does matter, and with all the dirt on Newt, it would make Obamas job easy. Obama would actually be transformed into the family values candidate if running against Newt. That's just not acceptable.

Then we have Ron Paul. Where do we begin. He could have the run in him. I really admire his principled stand on issues he believes in. He doesn't say things that poll well or generate a buzz in focus groups, he will talk about his actual views on policy, whether they are popular or not, but he slouches at the podium and creates questions about his judgement when he starts saying crazy things, like the US shouldn't have fought WWII, and that we brought the terror attacks of 911 on ourselves. Whenever Ron Paul starts getting somewhat palatable, his kooky followers remind everyone why he will always be a fringe candidate.

That leaves Romney. The only reasonable man who could actually go on the run even though radical tea partiers and Sarah Palin are doing everything they can to derail him. Sarah has been an unhelpful interference in this election. A long drawn out process doesn't help anyone but Obama. I'm really starting to think Obama is a shoe in with crazy people on Hot Air and other conservatives now  imagining that Rick Santorum can somehow make a run for the Presidency after taking a historic beating in his last election.

We can count on seeing the footage of Rick from 2005 comparing Senate Democrats to Hitler, which is a serious disregard of Senate decorum. Rick has a bit of a temper and isn't really cut out for the Presidency. So unless Romney starts making good headway and everyone starts getting behind him I won't have much faith that Obama can be defeated.

I have a strong suspicion you are unnecessarily pessimistic.  It's easy to understand, what with the onslaught of bullshit from BO's propaganda machine, but they are grossly overestimating his prospects and underestimating (intentionally, of course) the depth of resentment of his policies.  His 'charisma' and 'charm' won't carry his sorry ass as far this time.

I made this same comparison on another web site at the beginning of the republication campaigns.  It is truly going to be a hard fought battle for both sides, albeit the democrats have the upper hand at the moment.

Also, Obama has a great hole card, and it is called the present "Secretary State."  If he can get her to become the VP candidate then you are looking at a tough up hill battle for the republications.  All Obama needs to do is show that at the end of this run he would threw all his weight along with the complete backing of the democratic party fours years from now behind Ms Clinton she just might jump on the wagon with him.

I think BO's media supporters would make a Clinton VP candidacy (I don't think that will happen, BTW) out to be the second coming, but BO is such a narcissist I can't imagine him letting her steal even a photon of his place in the spotlight. He's all about him and it would be all about her.

I have a strong suspicion you are unnecessarily pessimistic.

Unnecessarily pessimistic? in case you haven't noticed, Obama is an expert when it comes to pissing on people legs and convincing them that it's rain. With his 98% control of the media and his "truth squads" ensuring "fairness" with a boot stamp in our faces, its easy to see things slipping away double time. Everything would have to go perfectly right for Republicans to have a chance in this election. The Republican voters seem confused, fragmented, searching for an ideological purity where none exists, and overall, they just seem more self destructive than anything else. The current trend for Rick Santorum if anything else proves just how badly things have gone for both Newt and Romney. Those were the only 2 I was ever looking at from the start. Newt started out OK as the "new Newt." He was the adult in the room and the guy who wouldn't attack a fellow Republican, but that quickly spiraled out of control when Romney's pac simply reminded everyone who Newt really was. Santorum has a snowball chance in hell against Obama. Should he become the nominee I will take a nice 2 week break to a place where I don't have to see the results very much. Its true Romney is a flawed candidate, but hes the only plausible President I see up there, and right now, it seems like everyone wants to take him out more than anything else.

I'd vote for Charlie Sheen before I'd vote for BO.  I think there are many who feel the same way.

I feel the same way, but that's not enough to win the election. Don't underestimate Obama, regardless of his poor record he is still very likable among most Americans who aren't partisans like us. Go look at his videos on Youtube and try to view it as someone with no bias. These are the messages Americans will be inundated with from now until election day. Its very good propaganda. This will be a very tough election and candidates like Santorum and Newt would get turned to mincemeat by team Obama. In my opinion, whether you like him or not, Romney is the only guy fit for the run. He has a chance where the others have none.

Hows this for a real Obama slogan: Obama 2012, cause our children, grandchildren and future generations deserve to live in abject poverty and slavery.
