keep your friends close but your enemies closer

The Republican field is somewhat weak, and right now it may seem somewhat dysfunctional, but I've come to the conclusion that I, and everyone else have been too picky on which candidate is best. All the Republicans, with the exception of Paul, have most of the same beliefs and at this point I don't care which one gets the nod.

If the election were between Obama and a kid from college who got 98% on his last civics exam I would take the kid. I would have more optimism and hope that the kid would surround himself with good people and do the right thing over Obama, who has been an unmitigated disaster. Case in point, the 15 trillion dollar deficit. Obama initially promised to slash it in half, but only quadrupled Bush's 8 years of spending on only 3. Once, while on the campaign trail, Obama called Bush "unpatriotic." So if Bush is all that then what does that make Obama, who is even worse?

To his credit, President Obama smartly assembled a deficit commission, but when they submitted their thoughtful and accurate assessment of the problem along with numerous ways to begin fixing it, and dire warnings of what would happen if we didn't, Obama disregarded it completely. Not a few things or one thing, but everything. He disregarded the findings and warnings of his own deficit commission. That, coupled with no budget since the beginning of his term, make Obama the most fiscally irresponsible and reckless President of my lifetime.

This isn't all. His pie in the sky ideology on "green initiatives" and disregard for drilling and construction of oil pipelines have led to the highest gasoline prices ever on record in the month of February. When the summer driving months kick in and demand goes up, we will be confronted by new record highs. And we ain't seen nothing yet. Just wait until Obama's new EPA regulations kick in and all the coal plants start shutting down.

The Utopian vision to end fossil fuel and stop drilling is costing average Americans huge amounts of money. Not to mention all the taxpayer money gone into the black hole of Democratic solar projects, which have virtually all collapsed. At this point, whichever Republican gets the nomination, whether I like him or not, I will have to vote for him. Each of the men running for office are infinity better than Obama. They will start the drills and open the pipelines, stop apologizing to Islamic savages and quit intervening in their battles. Start running a functional government with balanced budgets again. Lets start the election already.
