keep your friends close but your enemies closer

Its all starting to unravel for Obama. Its just going to cascade into one big avalanche for the administration all at once. Benghazi, Fast and Furious, barricading veteran memorials, more than 500 million for the Healthcare.gov website, more than 500 million for Solyndra, 51 vote party line budget gimmick at midnight Christmas eve to change our nations healthcare, the failed stimulus payoff, using the IRS as Brownshirts to attack Tea party conservatives with audits and delays of tax exempt status, drawing lines in the sand and failing to back up tough talk in Syria making the US look weak and foolish, attacking Libya and contributing to a failed state in North Africa, rising death toll in Afghanistan with no know mission being defined for the American people, alienating our Saudi and Israeli allies, desperately seeking breakthroughs with Iran when none exist, dismantling missile defense shields with nothing in return from Russia leaving allies in Poland in a state of shock, leaving a power vacuum in thje world that President Putin is comfortable filling, etc etc. It also seems pretty clear that the Rahm Emanuel doctrine, "never let a good crisis go to waste" is the bedrock foundation of Obama's governance. The pattern of debt ceiling debacles and the failed launch of Obamacare make it clear that Obamacare was probably designed to fail at the start so that in that crisis, single payer would seem like a good alternative to the horrific, "conservative system designed by Mitt Romney and the evil Heritage Foundation". Its coming, the collapse of Obamacare and the push for single payer. If Republicans just sit on the sidelines, shut up and stop throwing Obama life preservers he will sink on his own as he deserves to.

Other than all that, his administration has been a great success.  Just ask Brian Williams.  You're such an ungrateful nitpicker, blind to His Received Wisdom.

The checks and balances are not functioning.  We have no independent press.  In time, the Internet may supplant the printer (and broadcast) press.  But for now, it will not unravel due to lack of over sight.

Well from a purely logical perspective, Obamacare is a horrible idea. Obviously if you added up the total amount of Obamacare money flowing into private health insurance - took that money and put it all directly into public health, you would have the best health system on earth,,,, probably 10 times over!!! But Obama has to work within the constraints of the system and therefore the best he can do is Obamacare. What else can he do, start churning out amendments that the people pass so he can work around congress and start fixing all the crap holding the country down???

Hasn't held him up much so far.  Selective enforcement, selective waivers, choosing which laws he doesn't like and ordering they not be enforced.  And the irony is that some can't seem to recognize that his policies are what are 'holding the country down'.

I don't know? from what i have observed about the presidency, it is like the steering wheel on one of those kiddy rides at the shopping mall..... And the president (any president) for the most part, is good at making it 'look' like he is doing things, but really?

If you really think he's just playin' around & doing no damage, well...

Get your point, i will agree damage is always allowed, no matter how constrained, because that's just the sick sense of humor of the universe.

I suppose the old saying 'if you do not have anything good to say, don't say anything at all' applies a bit... If a president is prevented from being able to do anything good, and doing nothing is unacceptable, what is left? Half assed and or downright damaging?

Seems to be the right place to link to this.

Read a little joke yesterday that wouldn't hurt here, either:

Obama voters are like Christmas tree lights.  Half don't work, the other half ain't that bright.
