keep your friends close but your enemies closer

White House Communications Director Anita Dunn has called Mao Tse-Tung "her favorite philosopher." I guess that should be shocking. As ultra-liberal John Lennon once said, "if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao, you aint gonna make it with anyone anyhow."

I saw that. What is happening to the Democrats? I know there are Democrats that fought and died for this country. I know Democrats that are as patriotic as any other political party in the USA. Is this what they are becoming? I can't believe, despite differences with other parties, that this is what the majority of Democrats want.

I have to agree Nitro, lots of rank and file Democrats must be drinking lots of Pepto Bismal at this point. They might not be willing to admit it just yet, but their getting queasy. Theres definitely been an exodus of nauseous Independents.

No, no, no - he is only one of her favorite philosophers.  One of two that she relies on most.

Let's get that straight, because that changes the meaning and significance completely.

It seems like being, admiring, or associating with communists seems to be this administrations "criteria" for a position. To name a resent few Van Jones, key members of the Black Caucus (praises of Castro), and now Dunn. In fact, wasn't a communist (his name escapes me at the moment) the mentor of young Barack? How many more are still in the closet? This should be worrisome for all Americans and anyone that depends on the US to be a stabilizing force in the world. With each new revelation, this is beginning to appear like less of a coincidence and more like design. I never would have admitted in the past, but I'd rather Hillary would have won. I might not have agreed with her policies and more than now, but at least I wouldn't worry about something slimy and subversive integrating itself into the system.

Well, at least not communism.

Well, at least not communism.

Right, never thought a good old fashioned sex scandal would be a welcome relief!

God forbid every person's idol isn't reagan or sarah palin. \sacasm off

That being said: so what? Is she in power? Is she the president? Is she a cabinet position, senator, representative? No? Okay then, good, games over then.

Personally, I don't care that one of the people she looks up to is Mao. One of the people I look up to is Che Guevara. The only catch is that I look up to him as the caring and compassionate man he was early on in his life, when he took the trip around south america and wanted to help people; not when he became violent, and cruel.

Does that disqualify me like it does her?

Just, everyone has their own likes/dislikes,etc. That's why America is so diverse, heh.

I guess some lefties will show up thinking this article is about one of their hero's. The little piss-ants show a lot of love for dictators that didn't kill their families.

Is that stupid remark directed at  me, or is it merely a generalized, ingorant remark?

If the shoe fits wear it.

I'm not going to sit and listen to any idiot defend Mao, when my wife grew up there during the Cultural Revolution with first hand knowledge of his wisdom in addition to half my military service during the cold war. So yes my "stupid" remark is for dumb shits that don't have the slightest clue what they love to represent because they never experienced anything (here's that "ignorance" you mention) other that "privileges" someone else paid for, often in blood. You can take your quasi-socialist drivel somewhere else, where it can be ignored. Self serving bastards.

Now there's a moronic statement.

This is exactly what your comment sounds like to me:

"One of the people I look up to is Adolf Hitler. The only catch is that I look up to him as the caring and compassionate man he was early on in his life, when he took painting to feed his poor mother; not when he became violent, and cruel".

Even a rabid dog was once a puppy. Here's a term you might get to hear, or even experience once you become a productive member of society: "One "oh shit" clears away one hundred "atta boys". Of course this is the generation in which nobody keeps score at soccer games, both teams win, and first grade graduation ceremonies, mediocrity is the norm. Not enough role models in this country (or even positive ones from abroad) for you that you have to look for communist killers to satisfy daddy issues growing up?

Ooh, weee...lets all call names now and imply all sorts of things; lets be a "big" boy, an "adult." Don't forget, insults - implied or direct - are only bad when those crazy liberals use them. When we use them, they're fine.

*rolls eyes*

/sarcasm

Seriously now, that's your opinion, and far be it from me to tell you that you cannot have one. Still...your point? You apparently don't realize that I know that he is going to be known for his atrocities, which mind you, I think are horrid. (Just wanted to make sure you didn't assume that I go around re-enacting them...) I get that, but that doesn't necessarily mean that his good actions - are negated. Or, that one action has to totally consume their life and good deeds. Think about it: George washington, Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, etc. Those founding fathers that you have shown you love - all made mistakes, and all did things that were horrible. (Ex: Own slaves, etc.) Does that circumvent their notability? According to what you're implying, yes.

A person can use his life as an example of where even the best intentioned, best acting, etc. people in our world can be corrupted.

Like I said:

"One ofthe people..."

I'm the type of person that takes the good out of the bad, no matter what. Even if the person is horrible, there is usually, 99% of the time, some good aspect. I try to look at that, while acknowledging the horrible things, and use it to learn, etc.

Anyways...try going and working on your reading comprehension, seriously, because it is a joke, especially when you type something silly like: "Not enough role models in this country (or even positive ones from abroad) for you that you have to look for communist killers to satisfy daddy issues growing up?"

And to think you're trying to tell me to grow up...good gawd.

Oh, for your education, here are a few people I look up to for various reasons:

My mother, grandmother, and sister are first and foremost, primary. Then, there follows (in no particular order): John Lennon, Robert Kennedy, Ansel Adams, John F Kennedy, Nelson Mandela, Buddha, Jesus, Anderson Cooper, Martin Luther King Jr, Mahatma Ghandi, Pope John Paul II, The Dalai Lama, Steve Irwin, Leo Tolstoy, Thomas Paine, Samuel Adams, Voltaire, Victor Hugo, Thoreau, John Adams, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Christopher Reeves, Susan B Anthony, Guru Nanak, Helen Keller, Malcolm X, Cesar Chavez, W.E.B. Du Bois, Rosa Parks, etc

Read it, and learn a thing or two about who I am, all right? Maybe then, you won't make such foolish comments.

PS - I apologize for my temper. I don't take kindly to what come off as, bluntly, childish attitudes. What you said was utter bullshit and I just have no tolerance for people who are assholes. That being said though, there's no excuse for letting my temper run rampant.
